Directional Drilling

Boring and rock trenching to get conduit underground without opening up the surface.

AZ Connect directional drilling and boring plant on a NSW infrastructure project

Core Capability

Underground Without The Open Trench

Roads, driveways, rail corridors and waterways cannot always be opened up. AZ Connect bores beneath them, installing conduit along a controlled underground path, then hauls cable through the same alignment.

  • Directional drilling and boring
  • Rock trenching where ground conditions demand it
  • PVC pit and pipe, conduits and manholes
  • Self-performed with our own plant and crews across NSW and the ACT

Common Questions

What is horizontal directional drilling?

A steerable bore is driven underground along a planned path, then conduit is pulled back through it, so the surface above stays intact.

Can you drill through rock?

Yes. Rock trenching is part of our civil capability where ground conditions require it.

Do you install the cable as well?

Yes. Cable hauling is our core specialty, so the same contractor bores the path and hauls the cable through it.
